Eggers Road Project
Project Overview
Eggers Road driveway was an exceptionally thought out and well delivered driveway. The planning and design all started with The Concrete Company who took charge of the design and lay out in conjunction with the builder and the architect to ensure the driveway should be aesthetically pleasing, durable and in keeping with the style of the house and the surrounding farmland.
The Hyland Dark Stone from Allied meant all pours had to be measured accurately to make sure that there was enough stone to cover each pour. Prep work checked to make sure it was perfect before the start of each pour.
Throughout the whole pour, the team from The Concrete Company took charge of placing the Hyland Dark exposed driveway.
The major construction challenge was that 3 pours to complete the 720m2 of driveway had to be identical in exposure. All edges had to be perfect as any low spots along the plain concrete inserts would stand out.
Also the 3 pours were done from the end of winter into spring – so we had extra challenges in matching the exposures whilst pouring and finishing them in different seasons and weather conditions.
The client did not want any visible saw cuts in the exposed aggregate panels. So TCC had to design 600mm inserts of plain concrete spanning throughout the driveway and perimeter to act as free joints to achieve the non saw cut look.
There was no budget set for this job. The client and the architect had such faith in The Concrete Company that price was not an issue it was all about quality.
All 720m2 of the driveway came out to the highest quality meeting the clients high expectations for an aesthetically pleasing yet durable driveway.
